History
On
and his
wife, Cheryl, were sent from Faith Fellowship in
New Testament church. Faith Fellowship of Dexter’s first
construction project was completed
prior to its first service. A bathroom and
small storage room were added to the former
Episcopal church that had become
our congregation’s home. The church was officially
incorporated in March 1983
with a membership of approximately 25 people.
In the fall of 1987,
we completed our second construction project: an
addition on the west side of the facility that
gave us much-needed space for
ministry to children.
In 1996, Faith Fellowship of Dexter purchased
property directly
across the road from the
clearing took place with the help of many volunteers. We installed a
driveway
with a land bridge and pond that same year.
A capital
campaign initiated in the spring of 1997 raised funds used to
begin construction on the site in August 2002.
In January 2002,
a reconstituted building committee was commissioned to
develop
and implement construction. The
ground breaking took place in
July 2002, earnest labor followed shortly
afterwards and continues
to the present time.

Faith Fellowship of Dexter is an independent church
with no denominational affiliation, yet holds
to a high standard of
accountability. In 1992 a number of
regional churches started from
a central church in
NCMF exists to promote legitimate accountability for the
ministers as well as expanded fellowship
for the associated churches. Today NCMF consists of 22 members from 14
churches
possessing varied backgrounds, cooperating together in the
Gospel. There is additional
non-member
involvement with NCMF from denominational and non-denominational churches.
Pastor
Paul Gmitter (senior pastor) is an associate minister of Elim Fellowship,
Executive Director of Camp Shiloh
Ministries, an Elim affiliated youth ministry, and is one of
NCMF’s
Elders. M. Cheryl Gmitter (Pastor Paul’s
wife) has a ministerial license through Elim
Fellowship. Pastor David Maxon
(assistant pastor) has a ministerial license through North Country
Ministers’
Fellowship.
Mission & Vision

“Building a Firm Family in the Faith”
1.
Our mission is to build within this community a body
of believers (the local church), then
set in order, equip the people for the
work of serving the Lord, and then release them to
function in that work. 1Cor. 3:9-12; Heb 6:1-3; Luke 6:46-49.
2.
Our mission is to train, develop, and equip the
excellent leaders who can and will reproduce
their God given ministries locally
and beyond.
1Cor.
3.
Our mission is to restore, stabilize, and develop
Godly families, thereby raising a standard
against the present societal and
cultural assault on the family. 1Peter
4.
Our mission is to evangelize our community by
becoming salt and light. We purpose to
overcome evil with good, hatred with
love, coldness with warmth, and apathy with compassion.
Matt,
5.
Our mission is to bless the greater body of Christ,
by sharing and receiving gifts, and talents,
wherever and however God leads us.
2Cor. 8:2-5; Acts 4:42;
6.
Our mission is to demonstrate as a New Testament
Church, the true nature of Christian faith
and fellowship. First, to one
another within the local church, then to the surrounding area, and
finally to
the world, with God's help and direction.

Need and Scope
Our
current facility is too small. We
presently hold two services on Sunday to accommodate
our current congregation,
and have had to take several of our seminars to other area
churches to
accommodate the large number of participants.
Additionally, with the impact on
our region from the expansion of the US
Army’s 10th Mountain Division at
see the needs of families increasing.
base
that is in the process of expansion to three brigades or 15,000 soldiers. Therefore in our
area there are a growing
number of families as well as non-military support staff that will benefit
greatly from our targeted spiritual emphasis in this region.
Today,
Army units in the world and its active component units assigned to the
installation provide administrative
and logistical support for the mobilization
and training of almost 80,000 troops annually.

Our
vision for the region involves the salvation of our un-churched
neighbors and
loved ones, bringing in ministries to speak into the leadership
of area
churches, hosting seminars for the community on parenting, marriage
and
spiritual freedom. To assist in the
accomplishing these goals, we are
building a facility to seat 350 people.
Over
the last fifteen years, our fundamental vision “building a firm family
in the
faith”, has been refined in the hearts of our pastors, elders, and
congregation.
We are committed to loving
the Lord, each other, and our world while expanding
His Kingdom through Biblical
preaching and teaching, Christ-centered worship,
evangelism, discipleship,
missions, and the restoration and stabilization of families.
Presently, we are actively engaged in
internal and external ministries that deal with
bringing believers into healthy
function in their God-given destiny. We
bless the
community through a diversity of loving acts of service, and bridging
barriers to the nations of the world
through active identification with missionaries, as
well as ministry to un-reached people groups.
The building
under construction is the first major phase of a envisioned
campus that is to accommodate the needs of a
congregation of 1,000. We believe God’s Sprit will be poured out in
unprecedented measure on His church in
our region.
